Biography

Axis Unity is a roots based reggae band hailing from Austin, Texas. Their music integrates all forms of reggae with soul, funk and rock to create a unique mélange of sound that transcends musical boundaries and captivates even the toughest critics. Frontman Nikos Fazen is the visionary responsible for the creation of their catchy, groove heavy writing style, drawing influence from many artists and genres. Powerful, catchy vocal hooks flow with carefully crafted lyrics covering social issues, politics, and self-empowerment, giving meaning and a positive message to Axis Unity's music. With a horn section, hours of original material, and plenty of variety in style they can guarantee a stellar live performance that has a little something for everyone to enjoy.

The group began in the summer of 2008 with founding members Marc Levine (drummer), Nikos Fazen (singer/songwriter) and a vision to bring creativity and improvisation to reggae like nobody had done before. Later, the addition of Bryan Cruz (bassist) solidified their lineup, laying the groundwork for all the current members to play their part.

Due to unexpected changes in their lineup, Axis Unity took a brief hiatus at the beginning of 2012, but is now happy to be playing shows again with new drummer Jake.
